Dr. Jennifer Clemons is a licensed Naturopathic Medical Doctor. She incorporates modern tools such as lab work and current research with time proven medical wisdom from Classical Chinese Medicine, Western Botanical and European Nature Cure roots. Her favorite treatment tool is educating her patients so that they may better care for themselves, improve their overall health and live healthier, longer. Dr. Jen has been called a “health advocate” for her enthusiasm in working to empower patients as they take charge of their own health and wellness. She often reminds her patients, “Naturopaths don’t treat diseases, we treat people who may be experiencing dis-ease”, thus she considers herself a general practitioner with an emphasis on moving healthfully through transitions and aging gracefully.
Previously, Dr. Clemons had been in Portland, Oregon where she had a general medicine practice focusing on helping patients with stress management, anxiety/depression reduction and issues with low energy. Her practice also includes treatment of women’s health issues such as menopausal and menstrual disorders, through both bioidentical hormone and non-hormone treatments. In the family medicine aspect of her practice the focus is most often on immune system toning and enhancement as well as identifying and reducing health risks. She commonly works with patients experiencing chronic disease and autoimmune disorders, as well as chronic pain and digestive issues.
The treatment modalities she integrates may include Western Botanicals, nutritional counseling and supplements, bodywork such as massage, Reiki and cranial therapy and energy medicine such as homeopathics and flower essences. The diagnosis modalities she uses include thorough questioning and careful listening, physical exam and pulse and tongue diagnosis. She uses both standard and advanced lab work to evaluate endocrine disorders, hormonal imbalances, adrenal function, nutritional deficiencies and food sensitivities. She also has training in Functional Blood Work, which allows her to dig deeper into your classic “screening blood work”, to more thoroughly evaluate your risks for chronic disease such cardiovascular disease or pre-diabetic states. With this information she will carefully work with you to explain, address and reduce those risks before they become a bigger problem. She anticipates being able to offer Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine therapeutics in April of 2010.
